I love this time of year... but not so much Halloween. I don't like to be "startled" and I am sure that has bled off onto my kiddos. I think next year we will stick to trunk-or-treat and then maybe have a Halloween BBQ out front as we pass out candy. Pull out some chairs, a table with food and drinks and maybe some fun Halloween music to dance to! Enough daydreaming... this year some of us were getting over colds so we didn't carve pumpkins, we didn't visit a pumpkin patch, we didn't make our traditional haunted ginger bread house and we didn't get to go to the carnival at Emma's magnet school. But we did trick or treat!
Emma wanted to be Cinderella but we couldn't get the wig right. So she was a beautiful princess!
Emma and her cousin Sabine. Emma thinks it was so cute that Sabine wanted to be Cinderella, too.
Elijah was Spider Man... three years running! He didn't want to wear his mask so I put a web on his face. After 2 minutes.... it was off.
Elijah running to us to show us his candy!
Scott was a wrestler. His daddy was supposed to wear his strong man costume so they matched... oh, well. Scott went through about 4 different dress up costumes that we have before deciding that this is what he wanted to wear.
Scott almost looked like a firefighter with his shirt off!
Grace was a princess, too. I forgot her hair band. Oh, well... again!
Some of the kids lined up and waited until the adults were ready to trick or treat.
The littlest kids got to ride in the wagon. Grace didn't last too long, she was already sleepy.
Daddy and his little princess.
Mommy and her little sweet pea.
By the end of the night Auntie E' was pulling all of them in the wagon.
The morning after.... candy checking and sorting time! I think we have enough candy to fill the birthday pinata's in the spring!
Four very happy kids.
Hope everyone else had a fun Halloween as well!
