Spring Happenings

Spring is here... and it means I can kick the kiddos outside more! We like to explore different parks and found a new one by daddy's work. It has a nature trail connected to it so off we went. This day was take your son and daughter to work day. Bryan has been working 14 to 16 hour shifts 6 days a week so they had get to up early to go with daddy. After getting Scott at school I picked up the other kiddos after about 6 hours in. We had a late lunch at the park and then our adventures began.

This park has lots of trails. Some cement, some with a walking path and some just dirt trails. We went on them all! They had to sit on every bench we walked by just to make sure they were well rested for our adventure! Grace wanted out so bad but I think she realized that she had it made when the drinks and snacks kept coming! She managed to stay awake the whole time.

Photo opp!

LJ walked backwards most of the time. He didn't fall once. Crazy man!

Such a beauty!

He climbed everything he could find that day.

Scott was so red in the face.

Kind of hard to smile in the sun.

This starts something I have to share about... Lately since Grace HAS to do everything we do she is now in line with the others. Brushing teeth, combing hair, putting on shoes, reading a book, taking a pic, drawing a picture, putting on backpacks, eating, playing games, being outside, watching tv, the list just goes on and on. She is quite the smart little lady! I guess it is a 4th born trait to pick up everything faster since you have 3 to follow.

(This is my favorite one!)

Warmer weather brings water time and until we get the back yard done... It is one MUDDY event. But LOADS of fun! Grace even gets in the mud, although she doesn't like the cold pool water. (Thats ok... I don't either!)

Hand-me-down suits are the best! Her belly sticks out of this one!

Scott would freeze to death if it meant he could stay in the water!

LJ actually ran in the mud... If anyone knows him knows that he does NOT like to get dirty. I was so proud to call him my son!

Emma is just like her mom. We both think mud rocks!

Playing mud tag.

Thank goodness we are getting someone to help with the yard. We love to be outdoors and since we cannot live where we want to be, we know we at least can do something about what we've got. I hope to bring in grass, plants and maybe even a garden. Yes, we will work in a digging spot/sand area. Cannot wait. OH, and shade. There is NO shade. Any inexpensive but neighbor-friendly ideas for large shade areas??!! Or know anyone who can donate time, wood and materials to our cause??!! Worth a shot!
