Summer entertainment and an unexpected dental visit

Where do we live?
In Las Vegas, NV.

What season is it?
Why it's summer!

What do you do when the weather outside is too hot for all day outdoor fun?
Bounce in a bouncy house, but of course!

Thankfully it fits INSIDE my home! Bryan's boss just upgraded to a larger one and this one had a few holes and a big tear. Nothing we can't handle! A few patches and some extra strength glue... Hours of free fun! Thank goodness it only takes about 45 seconds to fully inflate. When the kids are done for a while they just turn it off!
Makes a great baby cage... just saying!

Gracie had this old plastic kitchen for "babies" and we kept it inside a small bookshelf with all her other kitchen things on the shelves. Emma needed a bookshelf in her room for all her big kid books. Grace knew it was gone and I figured I would have to find another bookshelf to replace it. But while at one of my stop-ins to DI for back-to-school clothes... I found this lovely wooden kitchen for only $15. But it did not look like this when I spotted it. Doors were falling off, paint was spattered on it, everything was loose and it was very dirty. Lots of pen, crayon and "other" markings on it, too. I cleaned it up, put in some bolts and painted parts and well, lets just say that for a one year old... it is an upgrade in her mind! She plays with it ALL the time. So do the others. They are too cute.

Poor Elijah. He had to get a cleaning since he missed the Dentist at school when they came around. His chipped tooth up front will have to stay since it's cosmetic. He also had a metal filling that came out. Once the Dentist examined him there was 2 missing fillings and 2 new cavities. The dentist said that he won't need any locals since the cavities are small. I have never had a cavity and assumed the Dentist wouldn't mislead me. Well, one of his cavities was below an old filling so it had to be drilled out first. Lets just say that I felt like the worst parent ever. I had to hold down his hands and legs. He broke free at one point and tried to rip the dentists hands away from his mouth. The dentist reassured me that it probably uncomfortable from the vibrating of the drill and the cold water. I don't know exactly what he felt... All I know is that my quiet little boy, who seems to never complain about things like his daddy, told me that it hurt really, really bad. I have learned my lesson. Poor Elijah.

But... to make up for it I let him play a game on my phone the whole way home and I bought him a happy meal, (just him... the other kids were jealous until I told them what he went through.) And Grandma Tanner bought him a TRIO building set, (which are his favorite,) and we spent a little extra time talking to him about it. That night he couldn't fall asleep by himself. Daddy laid next to him and all was well.
Such a tough and brave little boy.
