For New Years this year we decided to hit the road with the kids. We had plans to go to the Magical Forest, (it was empty last year.) Right before leaving we realized that we only went last year because we were given tickets. AND, being unemployed, they were way too much for our meek budget. So, we headed off to see the lights at the speedway. It was empty, too so we drove very slowly. We had the windows down and were singing carols... ok, we were yelling silly things since it echoed under the stadium seats!! It was fun!
We then headed over to Krispie Kreme for free doughnuts for every "A" on their report card. They each picked their own and we grabbed a few for Scott and Grace. They love going there to watch the doughnuts being made. Oh, and to eat them, too! They all agree that doughnuts are best fresh off the line! Yum!
Later we took the sleepy kids home and let them camp out on the futon matress and have a movie night. A LATE movie night. Emma crashed at 11:45... so close! And the others dropped around 10:30/11. Bryan and I tried to watch the fireworks on TV but missed the ball dropping because of cable issues. Oh, well. It was nice to be all together at the start of a new year.
