Double Birthdays

It's that time of year again! Emma and Elijah are having their birthdays next week... and with the baby on the way any day now we needed to have the party soon.

During the last month of planning and having this event, I have learned a few things:

1 - Planning two kids simultaneous birthday parties while pregnant is not as easy as it looks.
2 - The stress from planning two kids simultaneous birthday parties while pregnant causes false labor contractions!
3 - Never hold a birthday party the week before your due date.
4 - Holding parties on a tiny budget for 2 kids is almost impossible... But possible.
5 - Don't save most of your "to do list" for the day before... you might end up "disabled" the whole day and in the hospital with false labor.
6 - Don't ever leave a bag on the carousel at Walmart. When you return to get the $18's worth of party supplies, it will take them an hour of your time just to give them to you. Especially if you are having contractions the whole time while waiting.
7 - Even though you may have this vision of the perfect party for you kids and things don't go almost at all how you planned.... It is not my party. My kiddos didn't even notice and still had a wonderful time. (Even if your house is a disaster. I mean a total disaster.)
8 - I have an amazing husband who takes good care of his wife and kids. He picks up where I fall short and I look up to him for all he does for us... and especially me.
9 - I also have wonderful family members who I know I can always rely on and we are so thankful to be related to!!!
10 - I really do have great friends. Really, I do. I am so thankful that they can see past our shortcomings, trials and our situation to still love us. They are truly great examples to me and I love them for who they are.
11 - Trying to Blog with contractions is way too distracting.... I am going to go lay down after this!!!

We made our pinata for the party!

Isn't it cute!

Everyone had a few chances to swing at it. LJ went first. He told me later that he was afraid to break it since we made it ourselves.

Emma had no fear of whacking the pinata. Later she even whacked off his trunk!

I never had time to do their cupcakes. We had to buy a last minute cookie cake and mini cupcakes for the party. The kids actually loved it!

On Wednesday the 24th, my Elijah will turn 5.

On Monday the 22nd, my Emma will turn 7.

I can't believe that they are growing up. I also can't believe that I will be having another little one very soon. (Within the same week as the other two's birthdays as well!) How time flies... and how thankful I am that I can stay home with my children. I have the best kids in the whole world!
